Today, we're gonna clear any confusion surrounding this topic once and for all.

When upgrading the fog lights of your vehicle, it’s important to know that there are two types of H16 bulb bases. This is dependent on your vehicle’s maker: European, American, or Japanese.

The Key Difference: An “H16” bulb in Japanese made cars has an H11 Style Bulb base.

Whereas, the European and American made cars have a winged design H16 bulb. Think Eagle wings for America*

So, if you have a Japanese made car and it says you need a size H16 bulb for your fog lights, but you don’t see bulb size H16 listed, what bulb size do you select?

Select H11! Because H11 fits and works in the “H16”  housing of Japanese vehicles.

If you’re looking for something different and unique, we’re going to take a closer look and compare our Apexcone Purple HIDs with the H11 LED, 27 x 2835 SMD. Both have the same bulb base, so either can be used as fog lights. However, the style and color you are looking to achieve will determine whether or not you should get HIDs or LEDs.

Unlike LEDs, HID bulbs have color combinations ranging from yellow, blue, and purple. If you’re looking for a custom and unique look for your car's headlights, don’t miss your chance to upgrade to DDM Tuning Apexcone HID bulbs.
